What is Binary breakers?
Our mission scope:
We acknowledge that gender is complicated, so while this is not an exhaustive list of groups we serve, we wish to expressly welcome folks from the competitive gaming community who are nonbinary, agender, third gender, two-spirit, trans-nonbinary, genderfluid, genderqueer, intersex, bigender, and polygender into our spaces. We wish to also invite folks who do not fit neatly into any particular labels around gender, as well as folks who reject gender altogether, to join our community.In addition to our focus on supporting folks with marginalized gender identities, Binary Breakers exclusively serves those who are involved in competitive gaming (e.g. speedruns, bingos, randomizers, etc.), and/or work to support competitive gaming events (e.g. hosts, tech team, moderators, etc.).At this time, membership is restricted to those who identify within both aspects of this scope.
We do not currently accept folks from outside of the competitive gaming events scene into our spaces.
Our core values:
community building: we strive to foster a space where members can express their fullest, most authentic selves. Breakers is committed to serving as a space within the competitive gaming scene for self-discovery, and aims to provide a foundation of solidarity for members.
skill transfer: We aim to foster a space for folks within our mission scope to engage in skillsharing with other members of the competitive gaming scene, both in terms of gameplay strategies or techniques and in relation to the technical or practical skills related to broadcast events.
Charity work: we are dedicated to fostering opportunities for members to fundraise for nonprofit groups which serve various axes of our community's held identities.
Showcasing members: we believe that our members are what make us remarkable. We highlight their accomplishments by providing opportunities to engage in broadcast events, avenues for collaboration with other community members, and amplification of their accomplishments.
What we look for in new community members:
Folks who self-identify as being within our mission scope.
folks who are part of the competitive gaming and events scene.
Folks who are at least 18 years of age, and in good standing on twitch.

Community Update Roadmap
Earlier in the year, we conducted a community climate survey asking members about their interests and experiences with Binary Breakers. In many ways, the feedback we received aligned with observations made by community leadership.
As part of our goals to communicate transparently and effectively with the community, we're offering some insight into the types of actions & adjustments we are working towards this year. While this is not an exhaustive list of our agenda, here is a timeline for when leadership aims to focus on certain topics:
Spring 2026: Event post-mortem discussion, documentation & process review, collation and review of early community feedback
Summer 2026: Climate survey launch & feedback review process, leadership structure updates, recruitment of new staff
Fall 2026: Policy updates, charity updates, training & onboarding, additional community input for events
winter 2026: relaunch of broadcast programming
Detailed information around each of these items will be provided in our community discord server as we move forward, with More updates to come over the coming weeks.
binary breakers at SUMMER GAMES DONE QUICK 2026!
this year, we hosted the following on-site Community meetups:
Binary Breakers meetup: Monday July 6th, 8pm
Breakers' Blood On the Clocktower: Monday July 6th, 10pm
Breakers Open Mic Night: Friday July 10th, 8pm
In addition to crafts and conversation, badge ribbons and buttons were available for our members who attended our main meetup. This was immediately followed by an evening of social deduction games! We also hosted our first open mic night!
Our most well-attended event welcomed well over 30 participants;
overall, SGDQ connected us with 25 brand-new community members this year!

Who can participate?
Our programs are hosted for our community, by our community. as such, participation is restricted to folks who are members of our community and discord server.
I've completed an interest form - what now?
Both shows are on Hiatus, so new submissions will be considered for the 2027 broadcast cycle.
Selected runners will be contacted via discord to confirm scheduling for their specific showcase.
When a prospective volunteer is selected, they will be contacted via discord.
Please note: the review process for content & event submissions can take several weeks.

Lavender Rights Project is a Black Trans feminist organization committed to dismantling oppressive systems that disproportionately harm Black communities. We believe that those most impacted by injustice are the architects of liberation, and we ground our work in their lived experiences, resilience, and leadership. Through policy and legal advocacy, movement lawyering, community organizing, and wraparound supportive housing, we build pathways to justice, empowerment, and systemic change.
